FIVE goals by new striker Nnamdi Nwachuku helped Braintree Town to an easy 6-1 victory at Holland FC, writes DAVID WARD.

The Iron comfortably overcame their Thurlow Nunn League first division north hosts, in their latest pre-season friendly.

Former AFC Sudbury striker Nwachuku is certainly making an immediate impact in the Iron colours.

He has now scored in each of their first three warm-up matches and in this latest game, opened the scoring on 19 minutes, adding further goals on 22 and 42 minutes to complete his first-half hat-trick.

Clacton and Frinton Gazette:

Iron boss Angelo Harrop fielded his potential first team line-up in the first half and they completely demoralised and outplayed the hard-working home side.

The second half saw an almost entirely Iron side made up of triallists, with just keeper Jack Sims and Nwachuku staying on the field.

Holland FC did score a goal on 49 minutes but any hopes of a revival soon disappeared as the Iron continued to push forward and saw two shots come back off the home side's crossbar.

An impressive triallist, who is expected to be revealed as a new signing for the Iron shortly, scored the visitors' fourth goal on 83 minutes.

Clacton and Frinton Gazette:

But Nwachuku had scored his fourth on 70 minutes before he went on to score his fifth on 86 minutes, to complete an impressive all-round performance.

Next up for Braintree is the visit of Harrop's previous side AFC Sudbury on Saturday at Cressing Road, kick-off 3pm.

The Iron then travel to Canvey Island next Tuesday for another friendly, kick-off 7.45pm.
