MILLERS Barn Golf Park members gathered to play for the Ron Eldridge Claret Jug.

Ron was a long-standing member of the club's CHAPS Seniors Society.

After he passed away in 2011, his family donated the jug to be played for in a pairs open competition.

Charley Hatley and Stuart Low, the defending holders, returned to defend their title and managed to win again.

Playing off of a 21 handicap, they recorded a gross 41 on the front nine and a gross 40 on the back nine for a total of 81, nett 60. This was a two under par round.

Second place went to Rod Russell and Gerry Smyth, with a handicap of 22.

They carded a gross 42 on the front nine and a gross 43 on the back nine for a nett total of 63 - one over par.

Third place went to Chris Davies and Mick Brown with a 27 handicap.

They carded a gross 49 on the front nine and a gross 44 on the back nine for a nett total of 66. This was three over par.

A longest drive and nearest the pin competition was also played and both trophies were won by Hamish Stubbs.

His longest drive was just over 300 yards.
