CLACTON Cricket Club suffered a disappointing start to their Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship campaign.
Having been rained off the previous week, they suffered a four-wicket defeat at home to Easton, on Saturday.
Clacton batted first in the second division contest and made 246 for six, thanks to a brilliant 98 from Australian Bradley Turner and 56 from skipper Scott Facey.
However, in reply, Easton got home with four wickets to spare.
Billy Occleshaw was Clacton’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 25 runs.
The Seasiders, who gained eight points from the contest, head to Dunmow on Saturday.
