CLACTON Golf Club’s junior section played their April Medal and the winner was Josh Bethell.

He triumphed with a score of 81-9-72.

In second place was Katy Yates, with 86-12-74, and in third was Max Smith, with 85-7-78.

On Sunday morning, 117 male members of the club played in their April Medal.

In division one, for handicaps of 12 and above, the winner was Glen Wiggins, who returned an excellent score of 78-10-68.

He won on countback from Wayne Mardle, with 80-12-68.

Third place went to Simon Johnson, with 78-9-69.

In division two, for handicaps of 13 and above, the winner was Liam Inwood, with a first-class score of 81-16-65 and a new handicap of 14.

In second place was the ever-improving Damon Purll, with 84-18-66, and in third was Steve Scott, with 82-13-69.

Monday morning saw 64 seniors play in their April Medal and the winner was Malcolm Pitcher, with a score of 83-11-72.

In second was past captain Des Holland, with 98-25-73, on countback from Keith Potter, with 81-8-73.

Clacton held a nine-hole stableford handicap qualifier, for members only wishing to play nine holes.

The winner was Keith Sillis, with 14 points.

In second place was Don Rudge, with 12, and in third was Peter Needham, with 11.

Thirty lady members played their April stableford and the winner was Chris Crossfield, with 33 points.

In second was lady captain Julia Hewett, with 30, and in third was Maxine Baker, with 29.
