TENDRING Volleyball Club’s Mitchell Lawrence is in confident mood ahead of Saturday’s National Shield final.
The Frinton-based side are gearing up for a showdown with Chelmsford rivals Essex Blaze.
The teams are set to go head-to-head in an eagerly-awaited contest at 10am, at the National Volleyball Centre, in Kettering.
And Lawrence insists his team are very capable of celebrating victory, adding to their Shield success against Boathouse Volleyball Club in 2012.
“It’s going to be a massive occasion,” said the middle-hitter.
“Playing in front of a big crowd is always an exciting prospect and the fact it’s against our local rivals will add extra spice.
“It couldn’t be scripted any better.
“We know it’ll be tough, but we believe in ourselves and are confident in our ability.
“We’re doing well in our league and playing well, so feel sure we can come back with the silverware.”
