THE death of a man who was hit by a train is not being treated as suspicious.
Michael Yates, 65, was hit by the train at Witham Station last Tuesday, June 14.
He died at the scene.
A post-mortem carried out by Dr Kamal revealed that he died of multiple severe injuries.
At the inquest opening today, June 24, senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said she would be asking for a toxicology report, a report from police and the coroner's office would be checking to see if he had spent time in a mental health unit.
A full inquest will be carried out on September 12.
