Housework are a five-piece funk outfit from Colchester, Essex and have been writing, recording and gigging original songs together for over a year.
Their sound is rooted in funk/soul/jazz/blues and this certainly shines through, however they like to inject some clout in the form of rock guitar riffs and powerful solos backed by hard, but sensitive beats.
With reviewers drawing comparisons to the likes of James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and stating that, “…their funky vintage soulful sound is classic and timeless…” and “…there is nothing like this in the Essex local music scene…”, Housework are definitely one to watch.
