THE yearly members meeting was held in August. Marjorie Hayward arranged for John Scott to show us a video and tell us about his trip to Lesotho in 1970. John and his friends take aid to orphanages and women’s groups for distribution.
At the September meeting, member Liz Herman told us about her adventures researching her family history, an interest sparked when he great aunt left her her journal.
Her search has turned up an ancestor who fought at the Battle of the Nile and many interesting cuttings and pictures. Liz also has a sampler worked over 150 years ago.
At the next meeting, on September 25 at 7pm, Brian D’arcy will tell us about living in the Tower of London.
