A TOP DJ is returning to his roots and bringing the pulsating beats of Ibiza clubland with him when he rocks the dancefloor in Clacton this weekend.

Former Colbayns pupil Sam Dungate has been spinning discs for more than 20 years.

He left the UK to DJ abroad in 2000 and hasn’t looked back, with four-year stints in Tenerife and Ayia Napa, and the last eight years in Ibiza.

Sam has worked for Linekers Bars - owned by soccer pundit Gary’s brother Wayne - for the past 12 years and DJs at the famous Ocean Beach Ibiza and has his own night at Hush.

Now he’s bringing his high-octane Futures History party night home to Clacton’s Liquor Lounge this Saturday night.

“I launched Futures History in San Antonio, Ibiza, three years ago, so it’s going into its fourth season this summer,” said Sam.

“It’s a night of upfront house and techno with plenty of old club classics, of course.

“I finally feel the time is right to throw one of my parties over here and where better to start than my home town of Clacton?

“I’m not just putting on DJs to play the music but I’m going the extra mile to try and create the atmosphere and visuals we have going on out on the White Isle.”

Percussionist Dean Oram - also known as Drum Warrior - is on the bill.

“I don’t want to give to much away and spoil the surprise but seeing this man in action is in a different class,” said Sam.

He’s also bringing in podium dancers and fire-breather Sheree in a bid to recreate the authentic Ibiza experience.

Sam says the evening will appeal to clubbers aged 18 to 40-plus.

Tickets are £6 in advance on 07980 147301 or more on the door.
