SUPERMARKET bosses were forced to lock customers out of a store on one of the busiest shopping days of the year because of a Christmas Eve power cut.
People doing last-minute Christmas shopping at Tesco, on Clacton's Brook Retail Park, were left stranded by the blackout this morning.
Scores of customers waited patiently outside, still clutching shopping trolleys and hoping the store would reopen.

A member of staff told the Gazette the power went off at about 10am.
Lights remained on at the store as bosses tried to get the supermarket reconnected.
Other stores on the retail park remained open.
A Tesco spokesman said the store reopened at 11.30am.
