SHOWERS did not dampen spirits as a popular car show rolled into town.
The Manningtree Vehicle Show took place at the Weeley car boot site, in Colchester Road, on Sunday.
It usually takes place near Horsley Cross, but the area has been earmarked for the new Tendring Europark business development.
More than 800 exhibitors attended the event.
There were also live bands, trade stalls, themed dancers, the Think Bike team and an aerobatics stunt display team.
Organiser Tara Scott said: “It was a great day.
“We had classics through to custom cars. There were military vehicles and really nice hi-spec cars like Ferraris and motorbikes.
“Everyone I spoke to thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“Despite the rain, the show went on.
“I really want to say thank you to people because despite the rain, everyone continued – they stayed and supported, which is amazing.”
The event is supporting local cat charity Kitty Kat Rescue.
