HUNDREDS of schoolgirls braved a muddy obstacle course in an effort to boost sport at a Clacton school.
Clacton County High staged the girls-only Tough Mudder style assault course as part of Sport England’s This Girl Can scheme.
It was set up to get more females to try out sports and activities without feeling selfconscious.
More than 350 pupils, family members and teachers tackled tunnels, tyres and giant bouncy castles as they made their way around the course.
School spokesman Simon Kedge said the event had helped to raise £100 for cervical cancer research.
He added: “There were lots of laughs and tumbles.
“It was a fantastic event which was enjoyed by everyone.”
