TENDRING schools have linked up in a special alliance to improve education standards.

The Tendring Teaching School Alliance has been created to forge a partnership between 25 primary, secondary, special schools and higher education providers in the area.

It was launched at Tendring Technology College, with more than 60 heads and teachers attending.

The college was awarded teaching school status last year after clinching the top Ofsted grade of ‘Outstanding’.

The teaching status means the college can work with other schools to help them boost standards and attainment.

Michael Muldoon, headteacher of the Tendring alliance, said: “Teaching schools are at the heart of the Department of Education’s drive to improve standards.

“Tendring Technology College was awarded teaching school status as a result of its excellent history of supporting other schools and achieving a great Ofsted result.

“Now we have formed the alliance and we have a simple vision. Working as one we will ensure that every child in all of our schools receives an outstanding education.”
